I had always hate a love-hate relationship with denim on denim outfits; I find that it is such an intimidating mix of technically the same fabric, that if done wrong can look awful and very 90’s… and not in a good 90’s way.
I had been trying to make a denim on denim outfit work for quite sometime but when I put it together it look awful! plus I only have one denim shirt which I thrifted a long time ago and it is oversized (I usually wear it when I run random errands).
I was looking through my very short pile of blue denim and I stumble upon these pair of wide leg crop denim pants, which I got last summer from Forever21, that was a lucky day because I had been eyeing these pants for quite sometime but I hadn’t had the chance to buy them, and that day they were not only on the clearance section, they were the only ones + they were almost my size (I usually wear a 25 but I can get away with the 26). So, here they are 1 year later. I am wearing a white strappy top underneath, and decided to tuck both, the white strappy top and the oversized denim shirt inside the denim pants to give the outfit some shape. I kept the shirt open so there is a contrast or a surprise element lost in the middle of all the denim.
For shoes, I went for these gray pumps from public desire and to match it I wore a gray bandana tight around my neck. For a jacket, I decided to wear this camel oversized blazer over my shoulders, also this day was cold and I was freezing my booty and I happened to have this jacket on the backseat of my car. I think the camel blazer gives this almost monochrome outfit a little hump and makes it look more alive.
