Recently I traveled to Southern Mexico, specifically the state of Michoacan. I had only been once to Michoacan, but I was only eight years old so I don’t remember much. My main worry while in preparation for the trip was to find the perfect early spring midi dress.
The reason for the trip was that my cousin wanted to have his baby’s birthday party over there, as he was born in that state. Since most members of my family lived in the USA, we had to collectively travel to souther Mexico. What I liked about this trip was that we had time to look around and sight see some of the towns close to the city were my uncle and aunt live.
On this particular HOT day, we headed to this beautiful lake about 2 hours away from Uruapan, Michoacan.
Once we arrived at the lake I was mesmerized by how pretty and calm it is. We were not the only family there, but there is not too much noise. The water in the lake is pristine and you can see the rocks on the bottom. The place is full with huge trees around the lake and there are sitting areas. Also, the park has a station for boats, which you pay for a trip around the lake.
I knew the days are hot during February and March. So all of the outfits I took with me were summer friendly. Before I left, I did not knew what to take with me. Since we are in the middle of seasons, retail stores do not offer yet the best of the season. I stumbled upon this beautiful white dress from Zara, which is new to Spring 2019 collection.
This is def the perfect early spring midi dress. I really like the vintage vibes of this dress, especially the brown big buttons in the middle. When we were on the road, I was worried I would get off the car and find that the dress was wrinkled. However this was not the case. The dress did not wrinkled at all even thought I was sweating from being sitting in leather seats. Throughout the day the dress did not wrinkled AT ALL. You can find this beautiful early spring midi dress here.
As for accessories, I am wearing these super cute hair clips from ASOS. Since I have dark hair, the brown ones are not too noticeable, but a pair of pink ones came on the package as well and they are so pretty. I mentioned the hair clips on my Current Favorites here. Unfortunately, these are sold out but check out similar ones here and here.
After the park, we stopped in this this little town called Zamora. This town is beautiful, I love post-colonial architecture and this place is full with it. We stopped in this beautiful goth cathedral. The cathedral is new, but nonetheless is beautiful on the inside.
Fun Fact: I began singing the song Esmeralda signs in the Hunchback of Notre Dame while she is inside the church. It looks so much like Notre Dame, I have never been there but I am going with what I saw on that cartoon.
