My everyday makeup or beauty routine is usually easy. I am no expert of beauty vlogger at all, however, I do enjoy having a semi-full face. My makeup routine is classy and without too much fuzz being that I am not a fan of the cakey face. I got to admit that your home girl does need coverage; after having intense acne for more than ten years I was left with a scarred face and neck, so going bare face it is not an option. I currently have normal to oily skin, so the majority of the products I use are oily skin friendly.
The first step is to moisturize. I usually use the Clinique pep Start Hydro Blur moisturizer, however I am really looking into switching up to Belief Problem Solution moisturizer, which is great for oily & acne prone skin. I leave the moisturizer be absorbed into my skin before the next step
The primer I currently use is the Urban Decay Optical Illusion Primer. What I like about this primer is that it has “blurring” properties, and as I mentioned above, it is a necessity due to my acne scar. I know it is technically impossible to hide acne scars, however, at least in my mind the blur works a little bit with helping to hide the scarring.
My favorite foundation has to be a drugstore one, which one you may wonder? Well, my favorite is Maybelline’s Fit Me Foundation. What I like about this foundation is that it has buildable coverage, just in case you might be in need, it’s light and the color range is pretty good. My only wish would be that I wish it had a pump… I put on the foundation with a damp beauty blender. When i am feeling fancy I like to use the Rainforest of the Sea by Tarte.
My favorite concealer is also a Maybelline one, and it is the Insta Age Rewind. However, I have been on the hunt for a concealer that has a little more coverage because I do have pretty dark circles.
We are having a drugstore situation happening over here. The powder that I find to be helpful with my oily t-zone is Rimmel’s Stay Matte
Brows on Fleek (it’s still a thing?)
The fifth step in my everyday makeup/ beauty routine are eyebrows, I use Rimmel’s eyebrow pencil in the color hazelnut. I naturally have dark and full eyebrows, and I find that a lighter pencil color looks nice when you don’t want to look too harsh.
Usually I only contour my nose. I have a thin face and I find that I do not need to contour other sections of my face. Got the map of the nose contour from watching a lot of Youtube videos and a photo of Kim Kardashian with her contoured nose. I have a tall but slim nose which looks offensive from the side but not too much from the front. So my goal is to make it look like it is shorter, unfortunately there is not much I can do with the height. What I do is I “draw” to lines in both sides of my nose and one across the tip of my nose.
Kat Von D “Shade & Light” palette is perfect because it comes with three different dark shades to contour and three light shades to highlight. I hit pan on two of the dark shades already.
As I mentioned, I have acne scars so wearing a high light is impossible because it would draw attention to my scarring. The only two spots where I highlight is my eye inner corner and my brow bone. I like wearing the highlight in my inner corner because it opens and brightens up the eye. As for the highlight in the brow bone is like having a face lift.
The eye shadow palette I have been using lately, mostly because it is the only one I have, is the Lorac Unzipped shadow palette
Eyeliner – Rimmel
The 7th step in my everyday makeup routine is liquid eyeliner. I have been the cat eye wing for the last 10 years and counting. So, technically I have tried many many liquid eyeliner formulas over the years. My favorite eyeliner is Exaggerate Felt Tip Eye Liner by Rimmel, because it does not smudge or melt.
Curl lashes + Mascara
After applying eyeliner I curl my eye lashes and add mascara. My favorite mascaras are usually from Cover girl. So either you’ll see me using the LashBlast full Lash Bloom Mascara or the LashBlast Volume Mascara, Both waterproof, because I find that whenever I use the regular one my lashes will go back to being straight.
.Normally, after showering I just let my hair dry. I like to either do a braid or twisted it into a low bun so that the hair becomes wavy.
And yep that is it for my everyday makeup routine. Usually, it takes less than 15 minutes if there are no distractions. How does your morning usually look like?
