When this trend first showed up last year I swear I hated it. For the most part, I am not into the sporty glam vibes and two I don’t really wear shorts. I did not really care if the trend showed up this year again, until it did. For an unknown reason, the bike shorts trend grew on me and then I could not wait to style it. So, this post is on styling bike shorts trend.
While I was doing some research on were I could get a pair, I realized I would not be wearing these shorts often. I don’t really go out much, and if I were, cyclist shorts would not be my first option. Second, I can’t wear them to work either. I had a few pairs of yoga pants laying around that I don’t really wear. Decided to grab a pair and cut them off into shorts. I don’t think the fact that these are DYI’ed is too noticeable so whatevs… Also, refuse to spend money on a trend that it is not too functional for my life no matter how much I like it.
These shorts are definitely out of my comfort zone. So yes, I did had a hard time styling them
I thought styling bike shorts trend would be easier, but surprisingly it was not. These shorts are definitely out of my comfort zone. So yes, I did had a hard time styling them. My first idea, which did not work, was to wear them with some sort of sports bra and a cool black oversized blazer on top. I am not in the best shape right now, so i was feeling uncomfortable and self conscious. Maybe in the future?
I styled the bike shorts trend with an oversized blazer from ASOS (here), a black turtle neck and western boots from ZARA (here). I am loving this look because it looks so chic. My second outfit choice was to wear a simple white button down and a beige blazer. I might style this on the future, so stay tuned!
