I want to think everybody owns a white button down shirt. A white shirt is such a wardrobe staple and a basic on everyone’s life. I love the fact that white button downs are one of the most versatile items you’ll ever own. The most important features for a white shirt is that it needs to be crisp, true white and 100% cotton.
There are several types of white shirts available in the market such as the Classic White shirt and the boyfriend shirt. I love wearing these shirts with straight leg high waisted denim and a low heel or boots. Also, for many, a white shirt is part of our spring-summer uniform (here to check my spring-summer uniform!). There is something so refreshing about a white button down shirt, half way down, with gold jewelry when it is roasting hot outside.
“Due to the versatility that the white button down shirt, there are several ways to look simple, yet sophisticated and chic.”
I wanted this outfit to be a little more put together than just denim and the white button down. For this look, I wearing this white button down from GANT (Here). This shirt was kindly given to me, however, I will give my honest opinion. Normally, I could never afford this shirt, however, if I could I would totally splurge on it. The quality is AMAZING! the white is a true white, and it is 100% cotton. Also, normally I reach for a more oversized shirt because you sista has boobs and buttons often times stretch in the middle. This shirt is a regular size 4 (no oversized) and the fit is amazing.
Now for bottoms, I exchanged my comfy denim for a midi skirt from Forever21 (here). You might have seen this skirt on one of my previous post (here). I find this skirt to be really sophisticated looking. I like the button down details on the side of the hip and the length is mere perfection. For shoes I went for my public desire pumps. I could not find anything similar because I have owe them for such a long time.
Lastly, for accessories I am wearing the lock necklace from Mejuri (here), and a little gold chain from Forever21. Also, I decided to thrown in a hat, which belongs to my mom but I “borrowed” it. I like the classy lady in a safari look the hat adds to this outfit.
